If you think you have to be sinless to know Jesus, you don’t know Jesus.
A hypocrite is an actor or pretender. Is hypocrisy an obstacle to the Kingdom of God?
Mark 7:6 These hypocrites taught the precepts of men as doctrine. The example He gives is a bad practice of stewardship. Bad stewardship practices continue to this day.
Bad practices, taught as doctrine, have allowed people to enter into a system and pretend to be something they are not. This portrays to the world a false view of God and His followers.
The gay marriage debate is a practice of focusing on one sin, ignoring others, and making a very staunch, visible, and political stand against. What about the sin of pride? Where are the marches to illegalize pride?

“Sons of hell” sounds a little extreme.
Moral affectation is a practice of conformity. This is partly motivated by the desire to be comfortable with others’ actions and thoughts. However, in reality, people can be completely in line with God’s heart and design, and still make you uncomfortable.
