Volunteer Opportunities

This summer will provide many volunteer opportunities at Sozo Valley Ranch. Each project is outlined below with the estimated cost for the project. We are seeking individuals or groups that would like to help us move the ranch forward. There are a variety of projects with a variety of needed skill levels. Some are family friendly and others are adults only. We have tried to estimate the number of people needed for each project. They will each be scheduled as soon as the money is available and enough volunteers are registered to help. We will come back here and mark each one as they are completed. They are not in any specific order and each can be scheduled as soon as funds and volunteers are ready.

Project List -

• .Move 5^th Wheel down and hook it up $1000.00

• The concrete is poured and ready. This RV needs to be towed from Wentzville, Mo. To Mineral Point Mo. And parked on the pad. We will then hook it up to water, sewer and electric.

  - This requires a volunteer with a 5^th wheel trailer hitch and a ¾ ton or larger truck. The other option is to raise the money and hire a towing company. This project is ready to go!

• Office Trailer - $3500.00

  • New siding

  • Fix paneling inside

  • add electric in office

  • Build stairs

  • Replace doors

  • Build out bath

This project requires skilled adult labor. It can be done a little at a time as there is power in the trailer and it is not currently in use.

• Clean up trash $800.00

Remove trash from: burn pile – Garage – House – Trailer – Yard

- This project is for all ages and skill levels. The property was vacant for many years and has an accumulation of debris.

• Strip and Tarp roof $800.00

  This job requires skilled adult labor that can safely work on a roof. We have the tarps to cover the roof and are looking to strip it until we can get a new roof put on.

• Remove paneling and carpet from house $800.00

  This is suitable for most ages. Their could be mold in the house, so sensitive people may not want to participate.

• Have electric ran in house $4000.00

  Requires adult with good electrical experience. We will have new service installed but we need to add some circuits for the garage and HVAC service

• Remove siding and reside house $3500.00

  Requires skilled adult volunteers. We will be removing the old siding from the house and replacing it with new.

• Paint Fence , trailer , and house $1500.00

  Suitable for most ages. Once the house and trailer is resided, we will need to paint them.

• Build Keyhole gardens $1000.00

  Suitable for most ages. We are designing and building a prototype keyhole garden for the Harvest Fields Project. This style of raised be allows for people with disabilities or limited mobility to participate in gardening. The finial product will be offered to local people with these limitations that wish to garden at their homes.
