Mat 11:28 NASB - "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."

Sitting on the shore of a lake or ocean. A hammock in the shade. A holiday meal at a table surrounded by family. All of these are different pictures of rest. All of these can be restful, but are they the type of rest that Jesus promised to give to us?

Our modern world moves us at the speed of light. We hustle from one obligation to another. We work too much and play too little. There never seems to be enough time in the day. Even now, Jesus offers you rest. If you have come to Him it is a promise for you.

I find many Christians in America have religious stress. Just getting to church on time can be a stressful endeavor. Why are so few finding the rest that Jesus promised us? Our hurried lifestyles leave us discontent with our relationship with God. Finding time for prayer is pushed out by pressing matters. The rest Jesus promised is only found in our relationship with Him.

I have just completed a new 50 day devotional called 50 Days to Spiritual Rest. It is available free to download on www.sunministries.org under training or from our free APP. As you work through this devotional you will discover the things that hinder your rest in Jesus.

I hope you take some time out of your busy schedule to do this devotional. It should only take 15-30 minutes each day. At the end of the 50 days you will know what is keeping you from resting in Jesus. The rest is up to you.
